What we collect
When you place an order:
- Your name
- Phone number
- Email address
- Delivery address — governorate, area, block, street, building and any delivery note you add
- What you ordered, and the order history on your account
- Your chosen payment method (but not your card number — see below)
When you contact us: whatever you include in the message, by web form, email or WhatsApp.
When you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address.
Automatically as you browse: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring site, and approximate location derived from the IP address.
We do not ask for and do not want your Civil ID number, date of birth, or any information about health, religion, political views or similar sensitive categories.
What we never see: your card details
Card and KNET payments are processed entirely by Hesabe, a licensed Kuwaiti payment gateway.
You enter your card details on Hesabe's secure systems. Your full card number, expiry date and CVV are never transmitted to, processed by, or stored on Centrix servers. We receive only a confirmation that the payment succeeded or failed, and a masked reference.
This is deliberate. It means a compromise of our systems could not expose your card.
Why we use your data
- To fulfil your order — process payment, pick and pack, deliver to your address, and contact you about that specific order
- To provide support — answer your questions, handle returns, and administer warranty claims with manufacturers on your behalf
- To meet legal and accounting obligations — retain transaction records as Kuwaiti law requires
- To improve the site — understand which products and pages people look for, so we stock and present them better
- To send you marketing — only if you opted in to the newsletter, and you can leave at any time
We do not sell your personal data. We do not rent or trade mailing lists.
Analytics, and why ours are unusual
We use two analytics tools:
Umami, which is self-hosted on our own infrastructure at analytics.centrixkw.com. Because we run it ourselves, this data never leaves Centrix systems and is not shared with any analytics vendor. It records page views, referring sites and general device type. It does not build a profile of you across other websites.
Google Analytics 4, which is operated by Google and does involve data being processed on Google's infrastructure, including outside Kuwait. We have IP anonymisation enabled. Google's own privacy terms apply to what they receive, and you can opt out across all sites using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
We chose to run Umami ourselves precisely so that most of our analytics needs are met without sending your browsing to a third party.
Where your data is held
Order data and our self-hosted analytics are held on infrastructure we control.
Some service providers process data outside Kuwait — Google Analytics in particular. Where that happens, we rely on the provider's contractual data-protection commitments.
How long we keep it
- Order and transaction records — retained as long as Kuwaiti commercial and tax law requires, currently a minimum of five years
- Warranty records — for the duration of the warranty period plus one year, so we can support a claim
- Support correspondence — up to two years
- Newsletter subscription — until you unsubscribe
- Analytics — aggregated, and not linked to your identity
When a retention period ends the data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.
Keeping it secure
- The entire site is served over HTTPS with HSTS enforced
- Card data never reaches our systems, as described above
- Administrative access to order data is restricted to staff who need it, and is individually credentialed
- Servers are patched and access-controlled
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach ever affected your personal data, we would notify affected customers and the relevant Kuwaiti authorities without undue delay.
Your rights
You may ask us to:
- Tell you what we hold about you
- Correct anything inaccurate
- Delete your data, where we are not legally required to keep it — note that we must retain transaction records for the statutory period
- Stop marketing to you — immediate, no reason needed
- Provide a copy of the data you gave us
Email [email protected] with "Privacy" in the subject line. We respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we are not disclosing your data to someone else.
To unsubscribe from the newsletter, use the link in any newsletter email or simply reply asking to be removed.
Children
This site sells commercial networking equipment and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
