Overview

The Teltonika FMC130 Advanced 4G GPS Tracker is a value-priced gps tracker from Teltonika, available at Centrix Kuwait with full manufacturer warranty. The Teltonika FMC130 is a professional vehicle tracking terminal built for fleets that need more than a position on a map. It combines a 33-channel GNSS receiver with 4G LTE Cat 1 connectivity, automatic fallback to 3G and 2G, an internal backup battery, and an unusually flexible input/output block for a device of this size. Where the FMC130 differs from a basic tracker is the wiring. Three digital inputs, two analogue inputs and three digital outputs allow a single unit to handle immobiliser control, door and alarm monitoring, seatbelt or ignition detection and sensor reading at the same time. One of the digital inputs is a negative input, which removes the need for an external relay when connecting door sensors, alarm buttons and similar accessories — a real saving in installation time across a fleet. Two of the inputs double as impulse inputs, so the unit reads fuel-flow meters directly. That makes it well suited to plant, generators, agricultural machinery and heavy transport, where fuel is the largest controllable cost. Vehicle data can be read over CAN using Teltonika's LV-CAN200, ALL-CAN300 or CAN-CONTROL adapters, or over OBDII with a Bluetooth dongle. Driver identification is supported by iButton or RFID reader, and Bluetooth 4.0 LE connects BLE temperature, humidity and beacon sensors. Built-in scenarios cover green driving, over-speeding, excessive idling, towing and crash detection, auto and manual geofencing and trip logging, so most common fleet alerts are handled on the device rather than in the back office. The cellular variant supplied here covers LTE FDD bands 1, 3, 7, 8, 20 and 28A, which includes the 2100, 1800 and 900 MHz bands used by the Kuwaiti mobile networks, with 3G and 2G fallback where LTE coverage is thin. Before you order, two things are worth knowing. The FMC130 carries an IP41 ingress rating — it is sealed against solid objects above 1 mm and dripping water only, with no dust rating. It is designed to be installed inside the cabin or within a protected enclosure, and should not be mounted in an exposed position on a vehicle exterior or on open plant. In Kuwait, where dust rather than water is what kills exposed equipment, that distinction matters; if the unit must sit outside, specify the separate IP67 casing. Second, the FMC130 is the hardware only. It requires an active data SIM and a tracking platform to report into, both of which are supplied separately — we can advise on either. The unit is supplied with its 12-pin (2x6) power and I/O cable, which carries the supply and ground, all three digital outputs, the digital, analogue and negative inputs, the 1-Wire power and data lines and the CAN adapter's TX and RX. As stocked it is terminated in a cigarette-lighter plug, which is fine for a demonstration or a temporary fit. For a permanent fleet installation Teltonika recommend taking the supply from the fuse box behind a 3 A fuse rather than leaving it on the accessory socket, and note that on many vehicles the accessory circuit stays live for five to thirty minutes after the car's computer goes to sleep. The 2x6 connector should be disconnected before the unit is removed from a vehicle. The CAN adapters, the OBDII Bluetooth dongle, the iButton or RFID reader and the IP67 casing are separate items, as are the data SIM and the tracking platform. Tell us how the vehicles are to be monitored and we will quote the parts that go with it. Priced at 27 KWD, supplied from local Kuwait stock with same-week delivery and bilingual technical support.
