Overview

The Teltonika TRB500 Industrial 5G gateway is a mid-range router from Teltonika, available at Centrix Kuwait with full manufacturer warranty. The TRB500 is an industrial 5G gateway — one Ethernet port, no Wi-Fi, no switch. It exists to put a single machine, PLC or cabinet onto a 5G network and keep it there, which is a different job from the router that serves an office. 5G here is sub-6 GHz with 4x4 MIMO, which is what Kuwait's operators run, falling back to LTE Cat 20 and 3G where coverage thins. Four external antennas do the work. The environmental specification is the reason to choose it over a consumer device. It runs from -40 to +75 degrees on a 9 to 30 volt supply, draws under 6 watts at peak, and mounts on DIN rail in an aluminium housing. Kuwait summer temperatures inside an unshaded roadside or rooftop cabinet are exactly the condition that kills ordinary hardware, and this is built for it. Ingress protection is IP30, so it belongs inside an enclosure rather than out in the open. Two configurable inputs and outputs let it react to or report on the equipment around it — a door contact, an alarm relay, a reset line.
