Overview
The Ubiquiti UniFi U6 Mesh is a mid-range access point from Ubiquiti, available at Centrix Kuwait with full manufacturer warranty. The U6 Mesh is a Wi-Fi 6 access point that runs either on a cable or as a wireless mesh node, which makes it the UniFi answer for coverage where pulling Ethernet is genuinely difficult — a courtyard, an annexe, a warehouse mezzanine. Use the cable if you possibly can. In mesh mode the radio carries backhaul to the nearest access point and serves clients at the same time, which roughly halves the throughput devices actually see. Mesh is a way to reach somewhere a cable cannot go, not a way to save on cabling. Radios are 4x4 on 5 GHz and 2x2 on 2.4 GHz, 5.3 Gbps aggregate. As always, that number is the sum of radio rates, not the speed any one laptop will see. Outdoor use deserves care in Kuwait. Ubiquiti rates it IPX5 when mounted with the included accessory — and IPX5 is a water rating. Dust ingress is not rated at all, which is the wrong way round for this climate. Sheltered outdoor mounting, under an eave or a walkway, is sensible; fully exposed year round is not what the rating covers. Operating range is -30 to 60 degrees. Powered by 802.3af PoE at under 12W, and managed from the same UniFi controller as everything else on site. Priced at 119 KWD, supplied from local Kuwait stock with same-week delivery and bilingual technical support.
Who It's For
