Overview
The Ubiquiti LiteBeam 5AC Gen2 is a value-priced wireless bridge from Ubiquiti, available at Centrix Kuwait with full manufacturer warranty. The Ubiquiti LiteBeam 5AC Gen2 (LBE-5AC-Gen2) is a lightweight 5 GHz dish radio for point-to-point links between buildings, or for connecting a remote site to an airMAX access point. It suits ISPs and businesses linking a gatehouse, warehouse or second office without trenching cable. A point-to-point link needs a unit at each end. The 23 dBi dish concentrates the signal into a narrow beam, so both ends need clear line of sight and careful aiming. Ubiquiti quotes 450+ Mbps total throughput. It uses Ubiquiti's proprietary airMAX ac protocol, not standard Wi-Fi, so the far end must also be airMAX ac; phones and laptops cannot connect to it. A separate 2.4 GHz management radio lets you set it up from the UISP mobile app. Check this first: it runs on 24 V passive PoE (22-27 V), and the 24 V Gigabit PoE adapter is in the box. It is not an 802.3af/at device, so do not plan on powering it from a standard PoE switch port. Ubiquiti rates it for -40 to 70 °C and 200 km/h wind but publishes no IP rating and no range figure. Priced at 35 KWD, supplied from local Kuwait stock with same-week delivery and bilingual technical support.
