Ubiquiti UniFi Access G3 Reader (UA-G3)

Overview

The Ubiquiti UniFi Access G3 Reader (UA-G3) is a value-priced access control from Ubiquiti, available at Centrix Kuwait with full manufacturer warranty. The G3 Reader is the small, card-sized reader that goes on the wall beside a door in a UniFi Access system. People open the door by tapping an NFC card or key fob, by tapping their phone (UniFi Endpoint app), or with Touch Pass, which keeps a door pass in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet on an iPhone, Apple Watch or Android phone. It has no keypad or camera. If you want PIN codes, face unlock or an intercom, look at the G3 Reader Pro. The reader can also be set as the exit reader on the inside of a door. In that mode a wave of the hand in front of it releases the door, so you do not need a separate exit button. It is rated IP55 and Ubiquiti lists it for indoor and outdoor use, from -30 to 45 °C. In Kuwait, fit it where it is shaded from direct summer sun. It comes in black (UA-G3-B) and white (UA-G3-W); tell us the colour when you ask for a quote. How it fits in a door: the reader takes power and data over one network cable from a UniFi Access door hub, such as the Door Hub Mini. The hub drives the lock. The whole system is managed in the UniFi Access application, which runs on a UniFi console such as the Dream Machine Pro or Cloud Key Gen2 Plus. Ubiquiti does not charge a licence fee for UniFi Access. What else you need: a UniFi console running UniFi Access, a door hub, a PoE++ switch port or injector for the hub, an electric lock (magnetic lock or electric strike), an exit button or an exit reader, a door position sensor if you want open/closed alerts, cabling and installation. Centrix supplies and installs the complete door. Touch Pass: Ubiquiti gives each UniFi Access console 10 Touch Passes free for one year, granted once when the first compatible reader is adopted. More passes, and renewals after the first year, are bought from Ubiquiti inside the Access app, per user per year. Fire safety: on an escape route the lock must release when power is lost or the fire alarm goes off. Use a fail-safe lock and wire the release to the fire alarm system. Price on request.
