Ubiquiti UniFi Protect G4 Dome

Overview

The Ubiquiti UniFi Protect G4 Dome is a mid-range security from Ubiquiti, available at Centrix Kuwait with full manufacturer warranty. The G4 Dome is a 4MP UniFi Protect camera for entrances, corridors and small retail floors — a compact dome recording 2K at 24fps across a 102-degree field of view, taking power and data from one PoE cable. Before ordering, one requirement. This camera does not record on its own. UniFi Protect cameras need a Protect host — a UNVR, a Cloud Key Gen2 Plus or a Dream Machine Pro — to store and serve footage. Ordering the camera by itself is the single most common mistake people make with UniFi cameras, and it is not something that can be worked around afterwards. Check the mounting environment too. It is IK08 vandal-resistant and rated IPx4, which is splash resistance: it handles rain and washdown, but the rating covers water only and says nothing about dust. On an exposed facade through a Kuwait summer that is worth weighing. Under a soffit, in a lobby or along a corridor it is not a concern. Infrared night vision reaches about 9 metres, so it covers a doorway, a till or a corridor rather than a car park — for open ground you want a camera with a longer IR throw. Person, vehicle and animal detection and two-way audio come from the Protect software itself, with no recurring licence. Priced at 129 KWD, supplied from local Kuwait stock with same-week delivery and bilingual technical support.
