Overview

The Ubiquiti UniFi Access G3 Starter Kit Pro (UA-G3-SK-Pro) is a value-priced access control from Ubiquiti, available at Centrix Kuwait with full manufacturer warranty. The G3 Starter Kit Pro covers one door with a reader on each side. In the box are a Door Hub, a G3 Reader Pro for the outside, a G3 Reader for the inside, and two Pocket Keyfobs. Ubiquiti also lists 10 free one-year Touch Passes with the kit. Outside, the G3 Reader Pro gives a touch screen, a camera and a two-way intercom. People can open the door with a card or key fob, a PIN, face unlock, their phone (UniFi Endpoint app) or Touch Pass in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, and visitors can call from the screen. Inside, the G3 Reader lets people badge out, so you know who left as well as who came in, or it can be set for hand-wave exit. Ubiquiti notes the G3 Reader can instead be used as the entry reader for a second door, which needs a second hub. The Door Hub is the full-size single-door hub. It has four PoE outputs for readers and cameras, two exit-request inputs, a door position input and an emergency input that can connect to a fire alarm panel. UniFi Access can be set so that a signal from the panel puts the door into Emergency Evacuation mode. The hub can power a 12 V lock up to 1 A directly, or switch a lock with its own supply through the dry relay. It also has auxiliary outputs for a siren, chime or automatic door operator. What else you need: a UniFi console running UniFi Access (for example the Dream Machine Pro or Cloud Key Gen2 Plus), a PoE++ switch port or injector for the hub, an electric lock, a door position sensor, cabling and installation. To record the reader's camera, the console also needs to run UniFi Protect. Ubiquiti does not charge a licence fee for UniFi Access. Centrix supplies and installs the complete door. Touch Pass: Ubiquiti grants the 10 free passes once per UniFi Access console, when the first compatible reader is adopted. More passes and yearly renewals are bought from Ubiquiti in the Access app. Fire safety: on an escape route the lock must release when power is lost or the fire alarm goes off. Use a fail-safe lock, and connect the fire panel to the hub's emergency input as well as to the lock power, as your fire-safety approval requires. Price on request.
